It was a beehive of activities at the New General Hospital Okpoko, as residents, mostly pregnant women visit the hospital for their health care services.

Correspondent Oggorchukwu Oranu who visited the new General Hospital built and commissioned by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, said doctors and nurses were available attending to patients at the Accident and Emergency Section, while the out-patient’s department was filled with pregnant women who came for antenatal care among other patients.

Speaking to the ABS, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Ikenna Okwukogu said they have recorded high patronage and have been busy since the hospital commenced operation but noted that the hospital was located  in resource poor environment where some patients decline treatment due to fund and appealed to organization and affluents individuals to visit the hospital to assist in funding patients’ treatment.  

A pregnant woman Mrs. Mercy Mbadu and a patient, Mr. Romanus Agwoma stated that the hospital holds a brighter future for health care delivery for Okpoko residents and environs, thanked Governor Soludo for giving them sense of belonging.
