The road leading to the Chinụa Achebe International Airport, Umueri has been commissioned by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and christened “Willie Obiano Boulevard”.

According to the Governor, the renaming of the road after his predecessor was to acknowledge and celebrate his contributions to the development of the state, adding that over time, his government will systematically ensure that his predecessors are immortalized.

While stressing that his administration’s philosophy is “one state, one people, one agenda”, the Governor explained that what determines priority of attention, particularly in infrastructure, is to ensure that no one is left behind, which informs all his administration’s development projects in Anambra North Senatorial zone.

In his remark, the state Commissioner for Works, Engr Ifeanyi Okoma, said the project will ensure that the airport wears a new look, while the Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka, appreciated Governor Soludo for the project, and pleaded with him to remember to construct the other road leading to the airport.
