Ndi Anambra are still celebrating a significant milestone in the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, after three years in office.
On March seventeenth, 2022, Governor Soludo took the reins of leadership, bringing with him a wealth of experience as a renowned economist and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Over the past three years, his vision for a greater Anambra has been evident in the various initiatives and projects undertaken by his administration.
Governor Soludo has made significant strides in infrastructure development, with over seven hundred and thirty-nine kilometers of roads constructed across the state. This includes the completion of four hundred and twenty kilometers of roads, which have been commissioned and are now open to the public. The Zero Pothole crusade has also been successful in eliminating ruts on the state’s roads. The Governor’s legacy projects which include the newly constructed Government House left unattended, for about thirty-four years by a successive administration are jinx breakers and memorable gifts for posterity to behold.
In the education sector, Governor Soludo has implemented free education, making it possible for every child in Anambra State to access quality education. He has also recruited eight thousand one hundred and fifteen teachers, increasing the teacher-to-student ratio and improving the overall quality of education. Additionally, he has made public schools free, resulting in eighteen point seven per cent increase in enrollment.
Governor Soludo’s administration has made significant investments in the healthcare sector, with the construction of five new hospitals and the upgrading of three hundred and twenty-six health centers. He has also employed one thousand medical professionals, improving access to quality healthcare for the people of Anambra State. Furthermore, he has implemented free antenatal care, resulting in zero maternal deaths.
In the area of security, Governor Soludo has launched the Agunechemba security initiative, which has been successful in reducing crime and improving safety in the state He has also employed two thousand able-bodied men into the Anambra State Vigilante Group, further enhancing security in the state.
Governor Soludo’s administration has implemented various initiatives aimed at empowering the economy of Anambra State. The One Youth, Two Skills program has produced five thousand entrepreneurs, who have been equipped with the skills and resources needed to start their own businesses. Additionally, the Solution Innovation District has been established, providing a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
