In a decisive move to improve environmental safety and security, the Anambra State Physical Planning Board has embarked on a demolition exercise targeting illegal structures and shanties in Onitsha.
Leading the operation, the Chairman of the Board, Barrister Chike Maduekwe, who emphasized the potential risks posed by unauthorized constructions, including threats to community safety and security of the community, pointed out that the exercise will be total and continuous because the lives of ndị Anambra cannot be jeopardized, regardless of the status of the offenders.
He reiterated the importance of obtaining proper building permits, warning that any structures built without the necessary approvals would face demolition.
