Newspaper vendors in Awka and its environs have decried low patronage from customers, attributing it to existence of online news sites and harsh economy in Nigeria.
Vendors at Eke Awka market, including Lady Uloma Ofor,who has been in the business for ten years, and Mrs Gloria Orji, lamented that sales in newspaper business dropped due to harsh economy.
A newspaper buyer, Engineer Obioha Etido said he will never stop buying hardcopy newspapers, as it helps him save vital information for future purposes, a thing he said is an advantage the hardcopy has over the soft copy.
