Anambra State Governor’s wife, Nonye Soludo, has described the latest record-breaking feat by students of Christ the King College, CKC, Onitsha, at the World Affairs Challenge as a testimony of government’s huge investments in the state’s education sector.

The Governor’s wife, who stated this in her message released in Awka, noted that such giant milestones could only come from Anambra State where education is given primary attention as the foundation of human capital development.

The CKC students who were representing Nigeria at the World Affairs Challenge 2024 organized by World Denver, a global organization based in Denver, Colorado, USA, beat countries like Turkey and USA to emerge as overall winner of the reputable competition.

It was the first time a team that is representing Nigeria is winning the prestigious prize in the tournament’s thirty-two-year old history.

Mrs Soludo recalled similar awards which had been brought back by Anambra State, and described the state’s achievements on both national and global stages as a reflection of strong political will and commitment of the present administration.

She pointed out that the present administration in Anambra State has made massive progress in education sector reforms, including boosting human capacity through employment of eight thousand qualified teachers, improved learning environments through infrastructural transformation, and strengthening of school curriculum to meet global standards.

The Governor’s wife also added that the free basic education policy has not only made massive impact on literacy level, but has equally stimulated other development policies that target long-term reforms in the state’s education sector.
