Governor Chukwuma Soludo has emphasized the need for politicians and affluent individuals to always use their positions to impact the society positively.

 

Governor Soludo stated this at ASUU Secretariat, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, during the Public Presentation of “The Voice of a Prophet; a compendium of vintage speeches, by a former Senator that represented Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Ben Ndi-Obi .

Governor Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim described Senator Ndi-Obi as a visionary and philanthropist per excellence who has immensely contributed to the social, political, and economic development of the Nigerian Nation, noting that his life is a book that should be read by both politicians and young people in today’s society, as his personality reaffirms the saying that there is reward for good works.

 

The Governor, while regretting the way present day youths live dubiously and without focus, called on them to emulate the likes of Senator Ndi-Obi so as to become useful to themselves and the society in general.

He used the opportunity to remind the gathering of the efforts of the present administration in strengthen the security architecture of the state, assuring that the government will continue to ensure adequate security of life and prosperity across the state as that remains one of the priorities of the government.

 

Earlier in a speech, the Chairman on the occasion, Sir Clem Nwankwu and the book reviewer, Professor Emeka Ezeonu observed that Senator Ndi-Obi is a pan Nigerian who has made remarkable efforts towards ensuring peaceful coexistence and security of life and property in Nigeria, recommending the compendium to politicians, students and people of various status, as to him, the compendium covers all spheres of life including social, political and economic sectors .

In a remark, the Compiler of the compendium, Dr Sebastine Anekwe explained that the compendium which is made up of nine chapters with sixty-four Senator Ndi-Obi’s vintage speeches is targeted at honouring Senator Ndi-Obi and celebrating his achievements and contributions in nation building and societal development.

 

In their various remarks, the Member representing Awka North and South at the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Lilian Orogbu and Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu, of Princeton Hospital said that Senator Ndi-Obi is an astute leader whose social and political lives are worthy of emulation, commending him for his sacrifices and contributions to the progress of Nigerian nation, and prayed God to keep him.

Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim and the Catholic Bishop of Awka, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor were present at the event which featured unveiling and launching of the compendium.
