The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has wished Ndi Anambra a happy Easter celebration, encouraging all to extend hand of charity at this period.

Deputy Governor Ibezim stated this in his Easter message to the people of the state in Awka.

Dr Ibezim, who pointed out that the Easter period is a moment for sober reflection, encouraged people to use the period to have a rethink about their relationships with both God and humanity and to make amends where necessary.

He encouraged Christians to also use the period to impact positively on other people’s lives, and to be ready to make sacrifices in the interest of others as Christ did on the cross of Calvary for mankind.

Deputy Governor Ibezim asked the state residents to be partners in progress with the Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration by protecting various projects executed across the state, warning people against burning of tyres and other substances on all the roads in the state, as according to him such practices damage the road.

Dr Ibezim assured people of the state adequate security of life and property during and after the Easter celebration and urged youths to stay out of trouble, remain focused and be law-abiding citizens, reminding them that a life of violence does not pay.
