As Christians mark Easter celebration today , the Bishop on the Niger, the Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo has encouraged Nigerians not to be dismayed by the current economic hardship bedeviling every part of the country.

The Bishop in his 2024 Easter message expounded the phenomenon of Easter, underscoring its cardinal spiritual significance, saying that Easter is not just a commemoration, rather, a declaration of Christ’s victory and the demonstration of His power over the physical forces of the earth.

Bishop Nwokolo explained that Easter is the manifestation of God’s power over forces of nature, while the empty tomb is the symbol of victory over pains, darkness and any other thing that holds man down on earth and pointed out that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead and that is exactly what the victory grants humanity.

The Anglican Prelate said that in a world filled with desperations, various challenges, loss of hope, disappointments, failure and all kinds of anguish, the Easter helps Christian’s to focus on God’s love and victory, convincing Christians that despite the challenges which they face daily, that with the victory which Christ had over death, they will overcome, as Easter speaks about the transformative power of love when brings forgiveness, reconciliation and unites people.

He therefore charged Christians to go into the world hopeful of a better tomorrow and establish good relationships that will draw people closer to Christ and wished Christians a happy Easter celebration.
