As Christians celebrate the triumphant entry of Christ into Jerusalem yesterday, parishioners of Saint Stephen’s Anglican Church Inland Town Onitsha joined their counterparts in the Christendom to commemorate this year’s Palm Sunday.

The parishioners who marched through various roads in the area proclaiming the kingship of Christ made a stopover at Ogboye market Inland Town to demonstrate the significance of the day.

During the stopover, the Curate of the Church, Reverend Chibuzo Nwogu, encouraged the people to recognize Christ as their king and prayed to God to bless them.

Earlier in his sermon, the Vicar in charge of St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Venerable Ifeanyichukwu Azubike charged Christians to be humble for them to receive blessings from God.

Venerable Azubike who spoke on the theme “Simplicity and Humility” frowned at people who are proud due to their societal status which according to him, will end when the person dies but humility and simplicity in Christ will lead them to glorious life.

High points of the service include prayer session at Ogboye market and blessing of the Palm frond by Venerable Azubike.
