Legacy University Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State has restated resolve to transform the lives of its students through all round qualitative education to make it accessible for all as stipulated by the school’s mission and vision.

 

The Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Leonard Nkememe stated this during a Media briefing organized by the University to update its students as the university tradition demands, stating that the University has a conducive environment where the students will be groomed both academically and morally by well trained and qualified lecturers with adequate boarding facilities provided by the school.

Dr. Nkememe further maintained that the University was established to reduce illiteracy to the bearest minimum in Nigeria, adding that the institution is not a profit-making venture but rather aimed at contributing positively to the development of the Country

 

He pointed out that the school has been accredited by the National University Commission, which he attributed to the school management, and staff commitment in providing quality education.

The Pro-chancellor also extolled the Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo for his developmental strides in the state saying that the Governor embrace all sectors of State economy more especially as it concerns education and security, saying that crime has reduced drastically in the State, thanking him for his support to the University while appealing to him to help in reconstructing access road to the university which he said is now a death trap.

 

On his part, the Vice Chairman Board of Trustees, Chief Festus Oyima, disclosed that the school board usually take over the payment of fees of handicapped students until they complete their studies to ensure that no one dropped out of School, adding that, the University has zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice, drug abuse, selling of handout even as they disclosed that anybody caught will face the school disciplinary committee.

He described the University as one of the best among equals following the academic excellence of the students due to qualitative teaching.
