Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has renewed his commitment to serving God and humanity, saying that his administration will continue to make policies that will benefit the poor.

Governor Soludo renewed the commitment during the Harvest and Thanksgiving Service of Our Saviour’s Church, Onitsha.

The Governor reminded the gathering that they give to God when they give the poor in their midst and urged them to focus on helping the poor which is the most important as there are many destitute people in the society which is why his government is making concerted efforts to address the issues of poverty.

He insisted that the funeral service for his late father would be modest and decent, without unnecessary pomp as a way of demonstrating genuine commitment to the state burial law, lamenting that the society appears to be drifting away into trivial things that do not make any form of impact on the people.

Earlier, the General Overseer of Our Saviour’s Church, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu said that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, calling on Christians to make a life of thanksgiving a norm.

Dr. Ikpeazu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said that such thanksgiving may be in form of using their talents to work for God or any other means, pointing out that show of gratitude by both the superior and subordinate is important for continued flow of blessings and appreciation.

The service which witnessed thanksgiving by the state government led by the Governor, and different groups was attended by Wife of the Governor, Nonye, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, National Chairman of APGA, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, among others.
