The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, has charged those entrusted with leadership positions to desist from seeing them as mere titles.

speaking at the Cathedral Church of Saint John Ekwulobia, during the Advent Diaconate and Priestly ordination of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Ezeofor regretted that some of those in leadership positions are performing below standards, and called on such people to have a rethink, reminding them of the need to become responsible leaders.

He urged the beneficiaries of the Advent ordination, including Ordinands Innocent Nwankwo, Emmanuel Ochuba and Kingsley Okeke, who were made Deacons, and Reverend Chijioke Anyachor, who was priested during the event to use their positions in promoting unity, peace and love among all Christians, more especially among those whom they serve.

In a sermon, the Administrator, Cathedral Church of Saint John Ekwulobia, Venerable Ifeanyichukwu Ogbueli, who also charged Ministers of God to be alive to their calling, reminded them that God has a purpose for calling them, and encouraged them to always preach the gospel undiluted, instead of preaching the gospel of prosperity and that of convenience.

In their separate interviews, the Clerical Synod Secretary of Aguata Diocese, Venerable Decency Chine, President of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry, Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, and wife of a former Vice President of Nigeria, Mrs Ifeoma Ekwueme, charged the newly ordained and their wives to work together in order to win souls for Christ.

Among those that attended the service were the Minority Leader of Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Johbbosco Akaegbobi, President of Aguata Diocesan Council of Knights, Sir Obiora Okeke, some Diocesan officials, Council of Knights and Ladies Auxiliary, as well as uniformed organizations.
