Work is still in progress on selected roads in Club Street, Regina Caeli junction, Millennium industry and INEC road in Awka.
Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works made the observation when it carried out an oversight of the project in line with its constitutional responsibilities.
On arrival, the Committee met the construction firm handling the projects on site asphalting the Unizik-Isuaniocha road.
Commenting on the project, the Chairman of Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works, Engineer Emma Nwafor commended the thickness of the asphalt, pavement and observed that they are in line with specifications.
He further said that the Committee observed that the round-about being constructed around Everyday Supper market and Club Road is oval-shaped and on completion will check heavy gridlock that usually occurs there.
The Committee however charged all construction firms handling road projects in Anambra State to stick to specifications to deliver quality roads that will last for twenty years as they will expose those doing shoddy jobs in Anambra State.
