The Traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Bennett Emeka has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to ensure that this Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly election is free, fair and credible.

 

 

 

Igwe Emeka who disclosed this while speaking to the ABS in Awka, said that the 2023 general elections will be a litmus test for INEC to prove their preparedness, impartiality and incorruptible nature.

 

 

 

The Umueri monarch regretted that the level of insecurity, unemployment, tribal agitations and hunger in Nigeria at the moment, requires competent leaders that have both the physical and mental capacity to solve them.

 

 

 

He called on Nigerians to look beyond religion, ethnicity and tribe while casting their votes on Saturday, twenty fifth February, 2023 to salvage the country from its current quagmire.

 

 

 

Igwe Emeka further appealed to the people of the Southeast region to troop out enmass and vote during the general elections, as failure to do so will be a disservice to the region.

 

 

 

The traditional ruler called on President Mohammadu Buhari led federal government and the Central Bank of Nigeria to ensure that the new naira notes are available for poor Nigerians to access them.
