Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Health has expressed its commitment to partner the management of Anambra State Oxygen Plant to achieve the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the agency.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Chairman of the committee, Dr. Carter Umeh gave the assurance when the committee embarked on an oversight visit to the agency in Awka.
Dr. Umeh, who emphasized that oxygen plays an important role to the human immune system by guiding it against viruses and bacteria, stated that the committee will ensure that it is readily available for the state.
The committee appreciated the progress the Soludo administration has recorded in the health sector within a short period, such as the recruitment of over three hundred health personnel to feel the gap created by lack of human resources, free treatment of women living with cervical cancer and for fighting the heavy flooding that submerged many parts of the state last year among others.
Responding, the Managing Director of Anambra State Oxygen Plant, Dr. Constance Nnadozie commended the committee for living up to their oversight responsibility, which he noted has improved the health sector.
Dr. Nnadozie used the medium to highlight his vision for the agency and challenges confronting it as well as how the agency and the committee can work together to address them.
