The member representing Anaocha Two Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Ejike Okechukwu, has built a three-bedroom bungalow for a widow, Mrs Martha Nwaejiaka and her four children at Mgbuwa village, Akwaeze in Anaocha Local Government Area.

House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim, reports that the bungalow, which the lawmaker furnished to taste, was handed over to the beneficiaries at the commissioning ceremony of the project.

Speaking at the event, Honourable Okechukwu explained that he built the house for the widow and her children because his target is to make heaven after his sojourn on earth, and not a means to achieve his re-election bid.

The lawmaker informed the gathering that he was moved to build the house for the family when he came and observed that their old house was in bad condition; after a Reverend Father serving in a parish at Àkwaeze told him about them.

He expressed his commitment to building more houses for the downtrodden in his constituency as the Holy Spirit directs him.

In his remark, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, lauded the lawmaker for investing heavily in human capital development and empowerment, urging the people of Akwaeze to vote massively for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the forthcoming 2023 general elections to guarantee sustainable development of Anambra State.

In her remark, the widow, Mrs Nwaejiaka, revealed that she and her children have lived in their hut for over ten years before Honourable Okechukwu intervened, and thanked him for bringing solution to their pathetic condition.

The traditional ruler of Akwaeze, Igwe Christopher Okpala, who commissioned the project after it was dedicated to God, described Honourable Okechukwu as a shining star and blessing to the people of Anaocha Two Constituency, particularly Akwaeze, as according him, the lawmaker has touched all communities that make up the constituency with quality projects.
