It was a moment of joy and celebration as a philanthropist, Dr. Joachim Aforjama celebrated Christmas with less privileged persons at Ukunu Village, Agulu.

Dr. Aforjama, played host to Ukunu indigenes of Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area, as he celebrated and shared Christmas largesse to them and some less privileged persons.

The gesture, which started with free medical outreach, had residents and the less privileged tested for various illnesses, including Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Sugar Level among others after which they were given medical advice and drugs by healthcare professionals.

Dr Aforjama in his remark said the that need to reach out to his community necessitated bringing his charity organization back home, as his Big C Real Estate Company has achieved so much, hence the need to give back to society.

His wife, Angela Aforjama, explained that it gives enormous joy to share with people around you and advised all to give, no matter how small.

The traditional ruler of Agulu, Igwe Innocent Obodoakor, who expressed happiness over the noble gesture, prayed for more blessings on the philanthropist.

The chairman, Ukunu Village, Agulu, Mr. Okechukwu Agunwa, revealed that every widow from the community received a bag of rice, a tuber of yam and a cartoon of noodle while thirty youths were given one million naira each to support their businesses.

Mr. Agunwa thanked Dr. Aforjama for the gesture and for living out the biblical injunction of giving.

Mr. Emeka Ejidike of the Big C company, remarked that the company apart from being a big name in real estate at Lagos, also have other subsidiaries based at Abuja, Port Harcourt and other cities that are engaged in the construction of community roads for Ukunu.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Mr. Norbert Mmuoebonam, Mrs. Esther Ikegbu, Mrs. Grace Umeh and Mrs. Ebelumnou Azuka, expressed happiness and thanked God for using Dr Aforjama to reach out to them.

The Senator representing, Anambra Central Senatorial District, Iyom Uche Ekwunife, popular Igbo musician, Nigga Raw and host of others graced the event.
