The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor has said that the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem as prophesized by prophet Zachariah was to rescue mankind.

Bishop Ezeofor, who stated this in a sermon at Saint Michael and All Angels Parish Ndiokpaleze, Orumba North Local Government Area during a special service to mark the Palm Sunday, charged Christians to receive Jesus Christ with open arms in order to savour his blessings and mercy.

He said that Jesus Christ first demonstrated His Kingship with His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, and urged the faithful to make Him the foundation of their various families in order to triumph over all evil machinations.

The bishop, while charging the leadership of the Nigerian Nation to always listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the masses by mapping out more Programmes and policies that will improve their living standards, described fear as a major problem of the present Christians, and urged the faithful to trust and anchor their faith in God despite life challenges.

In a remark, the vicar, Reverend Canon Elias Ezeobiora, who spoke on the significance of Palm Sunday in the life of a Christian called on the faithful to use the period which marks the commencement of the Holy Week to build bridges of trust and good neighbourliness.
