The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Dr. Victor Oye has expressed sadness over the death of the wife of the late Chief Michael Okpara, the former Premier of the defunct Eastern Nigeria, Mrs. Adanma Okpara.
In a release, signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Tex Okechukwu, Dr Oye described Mrs. Okpara as the brain behind all the accomplishments of her husband whose political prowess and attainments are still celebrated many years after his demise.
He said that Abia State and, indeed, the entire country had lost a rare gem whose contributions to the development of women were remarkable and without doubt, indelible.
Dr. Oye, expressed optimism that the legacy of truth, altruism and doggedness bequeathed to the generation by Mrs. Okpara would never be forgotten.
He prayed God to grant her soul eternal peace.
