Anambra State Chapter President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Prince Emeka Udodeme has described the move by Southern Nigeria Governors as timely given the challenges the country has been facing over time especially the issue of insecurity.

 

Correspondent, Valentine Mbadugha reports that Prince Emeka Udodeme while reviewing the communiqué raised at the Southern Governors meeting held at Asaba on eleventh of May 2021, noted that effective actions to ensure the implementation will go a long way in stabilizing the current tension in the country.

 

He maintained that Ohaneze Ndigbo is a lover of good initiative and progress and will not fail to commend the Southern Governors for the thoughtful initiative of coming together which he described as the right step in the right direction.

 

Prince Emeka urged them to maintain such spirit of unity as he said there is great force in togetherness.

 

Speaking on the rising insecurity and attacks on uniform men in the southern part of the country, most especially the South-East and South-South, Prince Udodeme stressed that Ohaneze Ndigbo which is an Apex Igbo Socio-Cultural group does not support violence and crime calling on those behind the act to retrace their steps as the consequences will harm even the coming generation.

 

He noted that Igbos agitating for equity and fairness cannot be achieved through violence but diplomacy and harped on the need for an uncompromised unity and love among all groups that represent the interest of Ndigbo.

 

Prince Emeka who was addressing the ABS in Awka, further called on Ndi Igbo, especially the youths to embrace peace noting that insecurity and progress do not coexist lamenting the effect on the economic activities in the zone and the resultant effect on the poor masses.
