Anambra State Government has commended the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and Ogbogwu Drug Traders for peacefully resolving to relocate to the proposed Coordinated Wholesale Centre (CWC), Oba permanent site.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala who stated this at the first joint extraordinary meeting of all subscribers of Central Pharmaceutical and Allied Products Wholesale Limited in Onitsha, said that Federal Government designed the CWC as a way of curbing fake drugs and promoting healthy living in Nigeria.

He noted that the state government through his ministry did not relent in engaging all parties involved to resolve the long drawn issue that had lingered for many years.

The Commissioner said that when the CWC is ready, National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, State Ministry of Health and other regulatory bodies in the health sector will have their offices located in the centre.

He assured that his Ministry would continue to support and assist the union in order to achieve the objectives of the Federal and state governments towards the CWC project.

Anambra, Kaduna, Lagos were among states selected for the establishment of the CWC in Nigeria.
