Ndi Anambra have been urged to take advantage of various Central Bank of Nigeria economic initiatives and policies to enhance their economic growth and well-being.
The Branch Controller, Central Bank of Nigeria Awka, Mr. Benedict Mmaduagwu made this appeal during the 2021 CBN sensitization fair, held at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka.
Addressing the participants, Mr. Mmaduagwu said that the sensitization fair is anchored on the pursuit of sound economic policies that will engender economic growth
He explained that they will sensitize manufacturers, traders, artisans, cooperative societies, religious organizations on how best to make economic decisions that will help their businesses to thrive at any given environment and expressed dismay the majority of their target participants did not attend the fair.
Mrs. Dorathy Oyene from the Currency Operations Department of the Apex bank educate participants on the proper ways of safeguarding Naira notes to avoid wastage, as according to her, the bank has introduced naira tracking system to identify those who abuse Nigeria currency.
Speaking to the ABS, the Director, National Orientation Agency, Mr. Charles Nworji, represented by a Deputy Director in the Agency, Barrister Ifeoma Chijioke, described the fair as timely and crucial, but regretted that farmers and rural people especially women, are highly underrepresented and appealed to the bank to always partner the agency for proper information dissemination.
Central Bank of Nigeria has its vision as to be the model bank delivering price and financial system stability and promoting sustainable economic development.
