The Nawfia Anglican Community has extended hand of  partnership to Anambra Broadcasting Service towards the successful hosting of the 2nd Session of the 12th Synod of Awka Diocese.
The Synod which will hold from May 7 to 9, 2021, will be hosted by St. Michael and All Angels Parish Nawfia, Njikoka Council Area.Chibuzo Obidike  reports that
the Chairman of the Planning Committee of the Synod,
Mr. Obinna Etele  was speaking of when he led a  delegation of the Planning Committee to a courtesy call on the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Broadcasting Service  Dr. Uche Nworah.
Synod is the highest decision making body of a Diocese in the Anglican communion and  is convened to discuss issues affecting the church.
Mr. Etele said that the visit is to seek  the support of the station especially  on  the upcoming Synod was  geared towards promoting the gospel of Christ and bringing good things to the town, and state.
Also speaking, the Archdeacon, Nawfia Archdeaconry and Vicar, St Michaels and All Angels Church, Nawfia, Venerable Ifeanyi Umeh expressed delight with the transformation of the media organisation and applauded  Governor Willie Obiano for his people – oriented leadership in the State.
He also commended the governor for the huge financial support  recently he  made to faith -based hospitals in the state.
Venerable Umeh who used the medium to invite everyone to the synod which will be presided over by the Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, and will be attended by over one hundred bishops from within and outside Nigeria,  said that it will also provide a platform for the Diocese to worship, pray and intercede on behalf of the state, the  country and the world.
Responding,  Dr  Nworah who thanked the delegation for the visit, assured  that the station will continue to partner with the church in its activities and noted that ABS is always at the forefront of the evangelism of Christ.
