The Bishop, Methodist Church of Onitsha Diocese, Eastern Gateway, Right Reverend Livinus Onuagha has described Easter as the reason for the Christian faith.

Bishop Onuagha stated this while delivering his Easter message to Newsmen in Onitsha.

Right Reverend Onuagha observed that it is only Jesus Christ that laid down his life and Rose from the dead on the third day as he promised.

Bishop Onuagha enjoined all to be hopeful and see the present hardship in the country as a passing phase that will end sooner than they expected, stressing that nothing lasts forever.

He further noted that Nigerians are in deep hardship, where terrorists and kidnappers have turned the country into a no man’s land while the cost of living has continued to rise uncontrollably.

He regretted with concern the killings of innocent Nigerians, including one Methodist priest in Ebonyi state as well as the serial kidnap of school girls and the recent attack on the former CBN Governor, Professor  Chukwuma Soludo’s political campaign meeting as a very sad narrative for the nation, noting that only God can bring peace and progress in Nigeria.
