The Methodist Bishop of Onitsha Diocese, Eastern Gateway, Right Reverend Livinus Onuagha says, the Cross is the symbol of Christianity.
Speaking to the press on the significance of the cross in the Christendom, Right Reverend Onuagha noted that Jesus Christ initiated the cross to the Christian fold.
The Methodist Bishop further explained that the cross is synonymous with death and suffering, pointing out that just as Christ died on the cross to fulfill his mission on earth, every Christian needs to suffer to obtain the crown of glory, stressing that there is no crown without a cross.
He noted that many Nigerians have died under terrorism and insecurity and appealed for all to take solace in the victory of Jesus Christ on the cross with the hope that their suffering will end one day.
