Yesterday was International Children’s Day of Broadcast.

This year observance day has its theme as “United to reverse the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the children”.

 

It was a day set aside to celebrate the power of broadcast, connect with fellow broadcasters and leaders in the broadcast industry.

International Children’s Day of Broadcast was launched by UNICEF in 1991 in order to encourage broadcasters.

 

Speaking on the Day , a teacher from Rhema Kiddies International Primary School, Awka, Amanda Peter, said that the event will give opportunity for the children to showcase their talents through the media.

 

The UNICEF desk officer in ABS Mrs Franca Madike commended Anambra Broadcasting Service for their support and attention to the children to amplify their voices as about ninety percent of Ndi Anambra access radio and TV program for children.

 

One of the children who featured in the programme Akachukwu Obioko said that as a child, he is pleading to broadcasters around the world to promote children’s programmes  and most importantly allow children to be the part of children programming process.
