Anambra State taskforce team on COVID-19 safety protocols has embarked on aggressive awareness drive within Awka and environs, warning residents against breaching the safety guild lines such as compulsory wearing of face mask, social distancing, and provision of hand washing materials at public places amongst other measures.

The team took off from Nkwo Amaenyi Market, through to Eke Awka by Zik Avenue, up to Amawbia through to UNIZIK Temporary Site by expressway including Club Road, warning people to strictly comply with the safety protocols to avoid the long arm of the law.

According to members of the taskforce team, a mobile court has been set up for trial of those, who violate the safety measures as they risk ten thousand naira fine, community service or both, which are geared towards preventing the second wave of the virus from having dare consequence on the state.

However, the state government has reactivated a lot of measures in checking the second wave of the virus affecting different parts of the world, including putting a curfew in place, and series of other measures.
