The curfew reintroduced by Anambra State Government following the resurgence of COVID-19 recorded partial compliance in Awka metropolis.

According to the ABS team that monitored compliance level in some parts of Awka and environs, as early as half past eight o’clock in the night, most shops along Zik Avenue, Arthur Eze Avenue and some parts of Amaenyi have closed with light vehicular movement.

However at five minutes to nine o’ clock and beyond, there was still presence of few traders mostly bread and fruit sellers at Eke Awka, Nkwo Amaenyi, Unizik Temporary Site and Aroma junction.

Commercial tricycle operators were also seen trying to make brisk business conveying those, who were hurrying home in order not to be caught violating the curfew law.

In some streets including Emmannemeka, Ichide and Araba, some shops remained open beyond nine o’clock in the night while some people were sighted drinking in bars.
