The Nigerian Police Force over the weekend emerged winners of the fourth edition of the One Service, One Medal, OSOM, Games held in Abuja.

Ekwi Ajide of our Abuja bureau, reports that the police amassed seventy one gold, fifty silver and thirty one bronze medals.

 

The National Security and Civil Defence Corps emerged second with forty eight gold, thirty one silver and twenty five bronze, while the Federal Fire Service came third with eight gold, nine silver and nine bronze medals.

 

The Federal Road Safety Corps finished in the fourth position with three gold, six silver and two bronze medals.

 

The Nigerian Correctional Service on its part, secured two gold, two silver, four bronze just as the Nigerian Navy had two gold, eight silver and eighteen bronze.

 

The Nigerian Custom brought up the rear with one gold, three silver and one bronze.

 

Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr Sunday Dare expressed delight that the event eventually took place despite all the challenges occasioned by the COVID-19 lockdown which led to the cancellation of many sports events.

 

He equally expressed satisfaction over the high standard, discipline and commitment exhibited by the athletes in line with laid down rules and regulations.
