The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor has described the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Hillary Odili Okeke as a dedicated and committed Prelate.
In his goodwill message to Bishop Okeke on his seventy-fourth birthday, Right Honourable Okafor noted that he has over the years recorded outstanding evangelical achievements evident in the rapid growth and development of the diocese.
The speaker, who enjoined Bishop Okeke to continue to discharge his episcopal duties as a good shepherd, urged members of the diocese to join hands in moving the diocese forward.
He extolled Governor Willie Obiano for his wonderful spirit of ecumenism, adding that the governor has succeeded in creating mutual understanding among different church denominations in the state through adequate funding of missionary schools in the state among other numerous assistance.
Right Honourable Okafor while wishing Bishop Okeke more eventful years ahead, prayed God to continue to empower him and advance his episcopate.
