A Committee set up by Governor Willie Obiano to look into the boundary dispute between Aguleri and Umuleri communities in Anambra East Local Government Area will be inaugurated .

The Committee which has retired Air vice Marshal Ben Chiobi as Chairman and the permanent Secretary office of the Secretary to the State government as Secretary will be inaugurated by the Deputy Governor Dr Nkem Okeke.

A release signed by the Secretary to the State government Professor Solo Chukwulobelu says the Committee’s terms of Reference include establishing the immediate cause of the dispute between the two communities that occurred on Saturday, sixteenth January, 2021, invite and interview the families that own the lands in dispute and establish the boundaries between Aguleri and Umuleri as a whole.

The Committee which has three weeks to complete its assignment will also recommend other possible solutions that will guarantee lasting peace in the area.

Other members of the Committee are Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Dr Uju Nworgu, Commissioner for Lands, Mr. Bonaventure Enemali Chairman Anambra State Physical Planning Board Mr. Chike Maduekwe, Chief Security Officer to the Governor, Mr.  Chinedu Aniagboso, Retired Survey-General of the State, Chief Ifeanyi Ajoku,  Eze Michael Idigo of Aguleri, as well as  Igwe Ben Emeka of  Umuleri.

The President-General of Aguleri, President General of Umuleri, Youth Leader of Aguleri, Youth Leader of Umuleri, Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area are also members.

Members of the Committee will be inaugurated at theDeputy Governor’s Conference Hall beginning at eleven o’clock in the morning.
