Yesterday’s Environmental Sanitation exercise in Anambra State recorded partial compliance in Nnewi North Local Government and its environs.
During the exercise, human and vehicular movements were noticed, although major Markets and shops were under lock and key until ten o’clock in the morning.


Officers and Men of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra OCHA Brigade led by its Zonal Commander, Mr Emmanuel Obi, were spotted monitoring the exercise.

Speaking during the exercise, Mr Obi who commended the people for being cooperative as regards keeping their environment clean noted that environmental cleanliness and personal hygiene remains the key to healthy living especially during this period of COVID-19.

He called on the citizenry to always support the efforts of the State government in improving their living standards.

The Transition Committee Chairman for Nnewi North Local Government Area, Prince Chukwudi Orizu reiterated his commitment to a better, clean and healthy Nnewi in particular and Anambra State in general as the Local Government Area always embark on desilting of drainages and other related sanitation activities on weekly basis.

Areas visited by the ABS included, the Fairly Used and New Motorcycle Spare Parts Market, Agba-Edo Motor Spare Parts Market, New Auto Spare Parts, Agba-Edo United Market, among others.

Other strategic places visited were, Ibeto Junction, Bank Road, Izuchukwu Round About, Traffic Light and Igwe Orizu Road.
