Obiano Inaugurates St. Joseph’s Specialist Hospital And St. Maria Assumpta Group Of Schools At Ifite Ogwari, Ayamelum Council Area

Governor Willie Obiano has charged the people of Anambra State to embrace Agriculture to ensure food sufficiency.
He gave the charge at Ifite-Ogwari in Ayamelum local government area during the inauguration of Saint Joseph Specialist Hospital and Saint Maria Assumpta Group of Schools built by the Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese.

Governor Obiano represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Primus Odili commended the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke for citing the two important Sectors of the economy in the area, charged the people of Ayamelum to always reciprocate the gesture by making optimal use of the facilities.

The Governor stressed the need for Ndi Anambra to cultivate enough food during this lockdown to help alleviate hunger, while calling on the citizenry to comply with the COVID 19 directives.

Addressing the People of the area the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honorable Uche Okafor who is from Ifite-Ogwari, thanked Archbishop Okeke, for remembering his People and promised that they will contribute their quote when called upon.
In a Speech, the Commissioner for Health in Anambra State, Dr Vincent Okpala, promised that the State Ministry of Health will assist the hospital whenever the needs arises and called on the People of Ayamelum to always report any case of COVID-19 to the appropriate authorities as well continue to adhere to the directives from both the State and World Health Organization.

Earlier in his Speech, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Reverend Okeke said he wanted to cushion the hardship the people experience in trekking Long distances before getting Medical attention and attending Schools.

Appreciating the magnanimity of the Archbishop, the Co-ordinator of Health Services in Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese, Very Reverend Father Basil Ekwunife, and the Manager of the Hospital Reverend Father Vincent Abanogu Said urged the people to reciprocate the gesture by obeying the rules and regulations of the hospital.

They thanked Governor Obiano for his efforts in combating the spread of Coronavirus and called on the people of lfite-Ogwari to heed the directives of the State government and that of the World Health Organization on covid-19.

The event which featured blessing of the facilities was also attended by the Commissioner for Basic Education in Anambra State, Professor Kate Omenugha.
