The Federal government Joint Technical task Team to assist in the free
movement of food and farm inputs into Anambra State especially at this
period of Covid-19 pandemic has been inaugurated in Awka.
The Joint Technical Task is saddled with the responsibility of working
with relevant agencies in the State and Local Government areas to
develop windows that will facilitate free movement of food, livestock
and agricultural inputs.
The Task Team, with the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr John
Abang as Chairman will also ensure that adequate information
clarifying the controlled movements of the essential commodities are
made known specifically to food transporters and security personnel.
Addressing members of the team during the inaugural ceremony in his
office at the Command Headquarters Amawbia , Anambra State Commissioner of
Police and the Chairman of the Team, Mr John Abang reminded them that
their assignment is critical at this period when food availability and
security are paramount.
Mr Abang charged them to show high level of commitment, diligence and
resilience in the discharge of their duties.
Other members of the Joint Technical Task Team include Mr Arthur Mbuba
a Director in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural
Development, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Mr
Emmanuel Ifesinachi, the Chairman, All Farmers’ Association of
Nigeria, Anambra State, Mr Joseph Madubuko among others.
