Anambra State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, has commended the State government for the proactive measures it has taken to check the spread of the dreaded Corona-virus pandemic ravaging the International Community and enjoined Ndi Anambra to comply with the directives.


In a communiqué issued at the end of its Monthly congress at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Centre in Awka, the Union urged the State government to partner it to ensure that information on the disease is taken to the grassroots.


It commended the State government for the palliative work on various roads across the State but observed that some of the rehabilitated roads in Aghanya Street, Amawbia, Okpoko, Onitsha and others are beginning to fail and urged the government to ensure that all failed roads in the State are fixed before the rainy season.


The communiqué which was signed by the Chairman of the Council Mr Emma Ifesinachi and Secretary Mr Emma Udeagha noted the statutory joint responsibility of the government and the Media in informing the people adequately on the programmes and activities of the government and urged the government to leverage on this strategic relationship by ensuring that the Nigeria Union of Journalists is involved in all government activities including strategic committee and monitoring of on-going and completed projects across the State to ensure that the public are effectively carried along.


It congratulated the Anambra State government for the successful hosting of the just concluded Police games.
