CypherCrescent Nigeria Limited has donated twenty-five licences of one of its software tools, “Structured Engineering Presentation and Analytics Leverage, SEPAL”, to Chukwuemaka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, to aid research activities in the institution.
CypherCrescent Nigeria limited is a company specialized in Well, Reservoir and Facility Management, WRFM, consulting, among others.

Donating the SEPAL software to the university, the Product Manager, Technical Operations and Client Support of the company, Mr. Tunde Adeyemo said the gesture is an avenue to enhance integration between the academy and industries through research work, and as well aid production of graduates that would solve problems through research.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the Chukwuemaka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Greg Nwakoby commended Heads of the Geology Department of the Institution for attracting the company for such collaboration and sponsorship, an act he said conforms with his earlier instruction to Heads of Departments of the school, to reach out for external sponsorship, as according to him, government alone cannot fund academics.
Also speaking, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration of the University, Professor Sam Ekwenze described the gesture by the company as an act that should be emulated by other groups and individuals, to enhance teaching and learning in this part of the world.

On his part, the Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences of the Chukwuemaka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Osita Chiaghanam, observed that donation of the software package will impact on the quality of students graduating from the Geology Department of the university.
Disclosing that the University targets at developing solution for the oil and gas industries, the Head of Department of Geology, Chukwuemaka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Kingsley Nwozor described research and innovation as blood tonic in every University and assured that the students will subject the software to critical scrutiny for optimal outcome and problem solving.
In an overview on achievements of Geology Department of the university so far, Dr. Leonard Onuba who enumerated series of awards won by the Department during competitions from both local and international bodies, identified lack of sponsorship and fund, among others as challenges facing them, and called for assistance from both government and private bodies.
