The remains of the late Reverend Father Uche Pius Ukor have been laid to rest at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Cemetery Onitsha.


Reverend father Ukor until his demise on fourth December 2019 was the Editor in Chief of the Onitsha Archdiocesan newspaper Trinitas as well as the Director of Social Communication of the Archdiocese.


Staff Reporter Blessing Ijedibia who was at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha reports that the area was filled to capacity as people from all walks of life including his colleagues of the holy order numbering over one hundred and fifty, other religious, journalists, members of the immediate family gathered to pay their last respects to the late Reverend father.


In his speech, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Most Reverend Valerian Okeke said death is an inevitable for all mortals describing the fallen priest as a man of God who fought the good fight with faith.


He said that Reverend Farther Ukor will be remembered for his selfless service to Onitsha Archdiocese and beyond.


Most Reverend Okeke consoled the Ukor family and people of Umuoji asking them to take solace in the Lord.


In his Homily, Reverend Father Johnbosco Okafor from Saint Mary’s Catholic church Inland Town Onitsha emphasized that life and death are in God’s hand.
