Members of the Anambra State House of Assembly have resumed sitting after a three week break.

House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim was there and reports that while  welcoming the lawmakers, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Uche Okafor expressed  satisfaction  that it was  a fruitful break in view of the engaging activities embarked upon by the lawmakers.

The Speaker urged the lawmakers and staff of the legislature to intensify efforts in giving the citizens the best at all times, assuring that the House will continue to enact quality laws aimed improving the living standard of Ndi Anambra.

The House also commiserated with the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi on the fire incident at the Saint Peter’s Claver Catholic Church, Nnewi, which claimed the life of Reverend Father Edmund Nwagbala.

On his part, the member representing Nnewi North Constituency, Mr Nonso Okafor who commended the State Government and the people of Nnewi for the love they showed his parish over the incident, urged Governor Willie Obiano to prevail on the security agencies to do the needful about the death of Father Nwagbala.
