Twenty two students have secured scholarship from the member representing Onitsha South Two Constituency at the state Assembly, Honourable Beverly Nkemdichie Ikpeazu.


The students were selected for their brilliant performance at the Free Summer Lesson programme organized and sponsored by the Lawmaker during the long holiday period for Junior Secondary three JS3 and Senior Secondary three SS3 students at Metu Memorial Grammar School Onitsha.
The recipients of the scholarship programme received First Term tuition fee and examination fee for JS 3 ahead of their Basic Education Certificate Examination and SS 3 students also received money for their First Term tuition fee and WAEC examination fee.


Hon Nkemdiche Ikpeazu who is also the Deputy Chief Whip Anambra State House of Assembly noted that the gesture was to motivate the students in her constituency to take their studies serious as education is the key to development of any society.


She said that she has inspected Metu Memorial Secondary School Onitsha and promised immediate renovation of the structures, installation of electric transformers and functional water borehole in the school.


During the presentation of Cash to the scholarship recipients, the Director General, Honourable Beverly Nkemdichie Ikpeazu Campaign Organization, Mr. Ifechukwu Okosieme went down memory lane to thank the education friendly legislator who through her, the free lesson programme was organized and sponsored.


He urged the students to be more serious and hardworking in their various schools to justify the money given to them by coming out tops in their various schools.


In his remarks, Honourable Onyebuchi Charles Obi Director of Operations for Honourable Beverly Nkemdichie Ikpeazu Campaign Organization and Former Member representing Odoakpu Ward four in Onitsha South LGA, pointed out that the lawmaker who had previously awarded scholarship to students in her Constituency, gave succour to people of Odoakpu and charged the students who got the scholarship to put more efforts in their academics.


In her Vote of thanks, Mrs. Asonye whose son Master Casmir Asonye from Metu Memorial Secondary School Onitsha was one of the recipients thanked Honourable Nkemdichie Ikpeazu, for remembering her family through his son, while praying God Almighty to bless her abundantly.

Highpoints of the event was presentation of cash to the beneficiaries alongside their parents by Honourable Ifechukwu Okosieme and Honourable Onyebuchi Charles Obi who gave out the largesse on behalf of Hon Mrs. Beverly Nkemdichi Ikpeazu.
