The Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria BON has charged all station involved in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Broadcast to work closely together to achieve the desire goals.

Speaking during an interactive session with partner stations at Channels Television, the BON/Kwese Sports 2018 FIFA World Cup Committee Chairman, Mr. Tony Akiotun who is also the Group Managing Director of Africa Independent Television (AIT) said the session was aimed at explaining the modalities for broadcasting the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Mr. Akiotu said forging unity of purpose would enable them deliver value for the stations and to the 2018 World Cup Broadcast rights owners-Kwese Sports.

Also speaking, Mr. Victor Anjorin of Kwese Sports explained that as part of the broadcasting rights, BON partner stations who have signed onto the partnership would broadcast thirty-two World Cup Matches on their stations while the remaining matches would be broadcast by digital cable channels including DSTV and Startimes Nigeria.

Mr. Anjorin urged the partner stations to ensure compliance with the terms of the broadcasting contract.

In his speech, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS , Mr. Uche Nworah who was at the meeting with the Head of the Technical Service of ABS, Mr. Ugochukwu Afoekelu noted that World Cup season is always exciting period for soccer loving Nigerians and expressed delight that the ABS would be broadcasting some of the matches to its viewers on ABS free terrestrial Channel.

The partner stations including the ABS will broadcast the opening game, fifteen games involving participating African Countries, two quarter finals and two semi finals games as well as the final match while the rest of the matches will be decided as the tournament progresses and matches that are not shown live will be relayed during post-matches analysis shows.
