Anambra state has again proven to be the safest State in the Country with the successful hosting of Igbo Summit by Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Worldwide.

Despite security threat by pockets of groups, the Summit went unhindered amidst tight security.

At the entry point towards the venue of the event, joint security agencies including the Police, Army, Civil Defence Corp, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Traffic Management Agency, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, among others were seen conducting stop and search on human and vehicles.

The Police security helicopter was seen on steady surveillance of the venue of the event as well as its environs, even as the other points of entry to the venue were blocked from being accessed by vehicles.

Commending the initiative of organizing a summit to harmonize the position and stand of Ndi Igbo on issues, a former Commissioner for Information Chief Maja Umeh and the Chairman House Committee on Information, Mr Kingsley Iruba called for more dialogue to carry everyone of Igbo extraction along to minimize agitation and lessen internal friction.

Chief Osita Chidoka described the event as apt, saying that Ndi Igbo, just like other regions, have the right to determine their future, and called on the leadership of Ohaneze to ensure that grey areas at the summit were duly covered, expressing optimism that the federal government will do the needful.

The Summit was well attended by dignitaries from the South Eastern States as well as Igbo speaking people from other regions and beyond, including the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye, Chief Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, Senator Victor Umeh, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, among others.
