The resolution by the Ohaneze Ndigbo tagged ‘Ekwueme Square Declaration 2018’, endorsed by major stakeholders in Igbo land and the members of South East Caucus in the National Assembly,

also enumerated definite and revolutionary stands on true fiscal nationalism, regional autonomy and resource control.

The National President, Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Chief Alex Onukwue said he believes restructuring will help bring government and governance closer to the people while the State President, National Council of Women Societies, Dr Oby Obodozie called for the interests of women to be put in the forefront in the restructuring.

The Chairman, Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Sir Peter Egenti expressed confidence in the resolutions of the Ohaneze Ndigbo and said it captured the solutions to the basic problems facing the country.

Similarly, the traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Sir Benneth Emeka and the President General, Oba Patrotic Union, Chief Ifeatu Uzowulu asked for continuous negotiations by the stakeholders until the dream of more functional Nigeria is achieved.

The Summit started with an Interdenominational Church Service where Reverend Professor Ben Osisioma delivered a charismatic message taken from Second Chronicles Chapter seven and verse14 calling on Ndi Igbo to desist from all forms of inordinate love for money and sabotage to become true model of economic development.

The Restructuring Summit and its Ekwueme Square Declaration 2018 may not be a final document for a restructured Nigeria but certainly has become a major, articulate and standard harmonized document for the Stand of Ndigbo, thus the day has gone down in the annals of history as the day Igbos spoke with one voice.
