The Auxiliary Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Awka , Most reverend Jonas -Benson Okoye, has presented the 2017 Synod Acter to the church for study and implementation.

The presentation took place at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Awka, during a mass celebrated by the Charismatic Renewal members of the church in marking the 2018 Pentecost Sunday .

The Acter which is a document that contains all the key issues raised during the Awka Second Synod held in November last year, will help to redirect the Diocese towards achieving the aims and vision of which the church was instituted .

Most Reverend Okoye disclosed that the Acter contained various segments church’s activities including education, evangelism, governance of the church among others, stating that the Acter will take effect in October 2018 to become law.

The Catholic Prelate encouraged the congregation to understand that they are configured with Christ through baptism and they should allow the gift of holy spirit into their lives which will rekindle the burning desire to serve God throughout their lives.

Meanwhile,the Vicar of the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit , Reverend Canon Jason Onyeakagbusi, says the church of God is made manifest because of the presence of the Holy spirit without whom the church will be a social club.

Reverend Canon Onyeakagbusi stated this in a sermon to mark Pentecost Sunday at the church premises, Paul’s University Awka.

Reverend Canon Onyeakagbusi who said God is generous and universal, urged all to believe in God who will give them the holy spirit to enable them pray and be strengthen to endure the hurdles of life.

At the living faith church , Okpuno, the Resident Pastor, Titus Olayemi, emphasized the need for Christians to develop the act of giving to attract abundant blessings.

In a sermon titled,” Waking in financial Dominion”, Pastor Olayemi, said when people cultivate the habit of giving, God gives them the wisdom to handle their daily activities to yield positive results.

Presentation of the Acter, thanksgiving and prayers formed the high point of the services.
