Umuobi Akanato in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area, have endorsed Governor Willie Obiano, for second term in office.

The community trooped out in their numbers to attend a political rally convened by one of their sons, Chief Nnamdi Okafor, to sensitize the people on why they should vote for APGA.

The rally which attracted APGA stalwarts, government functionaries from the community and a host of other stakeholders, saw the people demonstrating their acceptance of the Obiano candidacy.

Addressing the people, the Transition Committee Chairman, Oyi Local Government Area, Chief Uchenna Okafor, called on the people not to sell their votes but should rather vote for continuity and good governance which he said Governor Obiano represents for lasting peace in the community.

The APGA chairman, Oyi local government, Hon Onochie Mkpuechina, urged the people to ensure APGA wins in the community during the election.

On their part, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Honourable Chris Uzoechina, and his Security counterpart, Chike Unachukwu, harped on the need for the electorate to collect their PVCs ahead of the election date in order to vote for Governor Obiano on the Election day.

Earlier, the convener of the rally, Chief Nnamdi Okafor, said it became necessary so as to enlighten the people on the need to come out and vote during the election, promising that the community which has eighteen polling units, will be delivered for APGA .

Others who spoke including an APGA Ward Chairman, Olisaemeka Doga, a Woman Leader, Lady Patience Obigwe, one of the oldest men in the community, Ogbuefi Augustine Ikebude all prayed for the Governor’s victory at the polls.
