Governor Willie Obiano has reassured that the state’s governorship election scheduled to hold on the 18th of November this year must hold.

Governor Obiano made this known yesterday at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka while addressing a cross-section of Ndi Anambra when he handed out cheques for the continued upgrade of mission hospitals in the State.

Governor Obiano who described the clamour for the people to boycott the upcoming guber election as ill-advised, said it will have very dire implications for the state, its present security and socio-economic development.

Regretting that 90 percent of the promoters of the “election boycott in Anambra” are not from Anambra State, Governor Obiano warned Ndi Anambra against willfully putting their destiny in the hands of others when they are the ones that will suffer whatever negative turn it takes.

He advised traditional and religious leaders, Civil Society organisations as well as other stakeholders in the state to take the message down to their localities and ensure that their children who are being used to refrain from such.

According to him, enough is enough and Ndi Anambra must take their destiny in their hands.
