The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, says Anambra remains the safest state in Nigeria.

Professor Chukwulobelu disclosed this during an interactive session between the Management and students of Naval War College, Ubima, Rivers state and the Heads of some Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Anambra state held at the government house, Awka.

While addressing the visitors who were on a study tour of the state, Professor Chukwulobelu said that Governor Willie Obiano, on assumption of office, strategically reorganized the security apparatus of the state that has brought in efficiency and crime free atmosphere in the state.

The SSG commended the visitors for choosing Anambra as the first state to tour since the inception of the naval college, and maintained that the theme of the session which is “Combating Maritime Security Challenges Towards Socio- economic Development” is key as the state’s massive investment in security has brought about huge investments in the state and wished them happy tour of the state.

According to the Commandant, Naval War College, Ubima, Rivers State, Rear Admiral TC Udofia they chose Anambra state because of the successes recorded by Governor Obiano in terms of security and economic development since he assumed office.

Rear Admiral Udofia further said that the college, among other things, develop capacity of its men as well as other sister security agencies in order to be abreast with the best practices of tackling the increasingly critical and complex contemporary global security.

Explaining the history, lives and people of the state to the visitors, the Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta, who revealed that the state is made up of highly brilliant and industrious men and women, made it clear that the current administration in the state has conscientiously turned around the economic fortunes of the state for the upliftment of the lives of Ndi Anambra and its residents.

The Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Barrister Stella Onuorah, equally in her presentation, noted that the state is blessed with huge cultural heritage and tourism potentials that make its inhabitants very unique among its contemporaries in Nigeria.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Prevention and Operations, Sir Chikodi Anaraa also made paper presentation at the forum which featured question and answer session.
