Christians have been charged to always live a life that would gain them eternal life after their sojourn on earth.
Reverend Monsignor Chukwuemeka Muojekwu, gave the charge in a homely during a mass to mark one- month- in- mind for late Reverend Father Peter Akogu, at Saint Michael’s Catholic church, Igbo-Ukwu in Aguata Council area.
Reverend Monsignor Muojekwu, who noted that death is a call every mortal must answer, emphasized the need for Christians to always be conscious of their actions and activities on earth as it determines their fate after death.
Reverend Monsignor Muojekwu, who described late Reverend Father Akogu as his intimate friend in the Lord’s vine yard, said he meritoriously served God starting from his ordination in 1976 till his death, calling on priests to endeavor to serve God selflessly, as according to him, it not only attracts God’s blessings but earns one eternal life.
Speaking to the ABS, a sister to the deceased, Lady Uju Ifediba, who is a staff of the Anambra Broadcasting service, described her late brother as an epitome of love and kindness, and a true servant of God, who throughout his life time, served God with faithfulness and did not toil with his Catholic faith and thanked God that he lived a fulfilled and exemplary life, even as she prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.
ABS family, including the Director News and Current Affairs Department, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze, the Head of Commercial Department, Mrs Beatrice Akwanamnye, Head of Programs, Lady Kate Okeke, among others, were on hand to commiserate with lady Uju Ifediba on the irreparable loss to her family.
