Dominion Sisters College Abatete, Idemmili North Council Area has organized her 12th Graduation Ceremony for its setnior Secondary students.

The ceremony was heralded with a holy mass at holy Name of Mary Catholic Church Abatete.
The holy mass which attracted the Abatete Catholic faithful was co-celebrated by the resident priest of the parish Reverend Father Professor Celestine Mbaegbu and Reverend Father Greg Ugwunwann In a homily, Reverend Father Mbaegbu who harped on the need for the congregation to have Christ in their lives said though there are good things in the world yet they are in transit.

He reminded them that God does not change and in him there is fullness of joy and peace of mind, while calling on the graduating students not to forget Christ as they go into the world.

The wife of the Governor Chief Mrs.Ebelechukwu Obiano who expressed satisfaction at the school’s performance both in internal and external examination noted that Anambra state is the right place for children who want to excel in life.

Chief Mrs Obiano represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Primary Education, Lady Pat Offiah reminded the graduants that education is a continuous process, urging them to represent their school well in the outside world.

Earlier in a brief remark, the Chairman on the occasion Ambassador Gozie Ijeoma represented by Comrade Stephen Dike charged the students to maintain principles and social habits in their lives and commended the State Government’s initiative of handing schools back to the mission.

In a welcome address the School Principal Reverend Sister Elisabeth Mary Tadafe noted with joy that their students had always made them proud both in Academic and extracurricular activities citing their outstanding performances in various competitions and external examinations more especially their outstanding performance in JAMB and WAEC examinations, urging them to sustain the tempo.

Speaking to ABS in an interview, the Co-celebrant Priest at the Hoy Mass, Reverend Father Greg Ugwunwanne advised the students to put into practice the morals they have learnt from the school.

Some parents of the graduating students, Mr Gabriel Okonkwo and Mrs Miriam Chukwuma of the ABS described their experiences in the school as great ,exciting, delightful and peculiar as the school has impacted positively on their children.

Some of the graduating students Lawrence Okoye, Miss Chisom Abadolue and Miss Sylvia Chukwuma expressed gratitude to God for a successful completion of their secondary education and promised not to let the school and parents down.
