Stakeholders in Ojoto community in Idemili South Local Government Area have declared their support for the second term bid of Governor Willie Obiano.
They were led in a voice vote by the community Regent, Chief Gerald Mbamalu at a Town Hall meeting held with the Stakeholders For Willie Obiano’s Second Tenure.
The town hall meeting which set out to create a platform for the community to identify the dividends of democracy in their community and other challenges facing them, turned out to be an endorsement for the Governor’s re-election bid.
In a speech to welcome the team to the town, the Regent, Chief Mbamalu, while restating their support for the present government, assured that the community will remain peaceful as they understand the high premium placed on security of lives and property by the State government.
On his part, the National Coordinator, Stakeholders For Willie Obiano’s Second Tenure, Chief Ekene Enefie, maintained that the town hall meeting was initiated to help assess state government’s performance at grassroots level and as well channel the community’s request to the Governor.
Later in an Interactive session which was dominated by praises for the state government’s developmental policies and requests by the community, some community leaders, including former President- General, Chief Amobi Adirika; the Willie Obiano’s Stakeholder coordinator in Ojoto, Sir Ifeanyi Umeagbala, Chief John Okigbo, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, woman leader in Ojoto ward, Mrs Augustina Anyichie, called for the completion of outstanding projects in the community while declaring total support for the second term bid of the Governor.
